Despite the next month of foodie posts would have you believe I don’t go out for dinner very often. Saturday just gone I went out for dinner with some friends. They are actually closer friends of a friend who couldn’t make it. So, I went out with a really lovely couple.
Anyway, my neighbourhood has an abundance of gourmet pizza places and burger places. Both exe Saturday night we did Italian pizza. A place called I’l Pizziaolo. Translation, the pizza maker. I did get better taking photos after the first course. In photos it went like this: going with other friends in a few weeks and one of those friends is more Wog than I am. He will cope.
Late Saturday night having already eaten what I refer to as my standard, standard Saturday wog lunch followed by more Italian for dinner. An ache in my side made me think for days, days! I had eaten too much food from the same food group. That being Wog.
Monday, I greeted my carer with the question, what’s in here? (Pointing to my side) Then questioning, kidney, liver? Which internal organ is so pissed off with me? Alas, I think I found another reason why I do not do chilli and pepper. It hurts my internal organs. Still going there again, just can’t eat the home made traditional Italian salamis.
Meanwhile, back to the present. Today’s offering is, a bolognaise arancini with side salad and medicine.
Full disclosure, day lights savings began this weekend past and Sunday around 3pm I was ready for the week to be over already. A busy week again ahead.
Tuesday, I was at the Brain Injury self-advocacy group again. Highlight for the day was when one hapless young man asked me “Are you PREGNANT?”
Yeah, he’s dead now!
Yeah, I then had the pleasure of explaining to him the effects of being this age! I’m referring to being peri-menopausal. I explained to him a side effect of being this age is either you lose weight or you gain weight. So, I actually told him I was not pregnant. I was just fat! I think that question is up there next to asking a woman how old she is. You don’t!
FYI, I’m 46 now and by the end of the month I will be a year older. I’m fine with getting older, I’m just looking at things I should do so I’m another 25 years I don’t look back and have regrets of things I’ve not achieved.
Because Wednesday is meant to be my mid-week foodie post, let’s have some food, shall we? Today’s offering is an Arancini Bolognaise with side salad and medicine!
And here’s a nice sign in Clifton Hill I found yesterday in my travels. Your welcome!
I’m also going to start mentioning TV Shows I’m watching. I’m watching season 15 of Grey’s Bit’s. (Grey’s Anatomy). Season 3 of 13 Reasons Why and my I have to get out of the apartment and go do Person show has been The Kids are alright. A nice flashback to the 70’s! I do watch things way past they are released but it’s because I watch sooooo much TV. Meredith Grey is my Spirit Animal.
A few weeks ago my Girl Friday and I made a batch of rum balls. A great Aussie classic from the CWA-Lady era. (Country Women’s Association) My food prep carer is much younger, often being mistaken as my daughter. I taught her the only way to measure the rum for the recipe. Follow the recipe, then Oops! My hand slipped and if you recall I’m not really a drinker. I’ve since given away more rum balls than I’ve actually eaten and I’ve got a 500mL bottle now to use, so more rum balls to make.
My recommendation is keep them small, about 2 bites each, best with coffee.
Also, an apology, I’ve had 400 emails I’ve just found in an inbox I didn’t know I had. I normally visit the blog of every new follower or at least any new Like I see and hit them with a Like or comment to let you know I’ve seen you. So, apologies, I’m catching up.
Was at my favourite cafe in Clifton Hill yesterday as I was in the hood seeing my GP.I had the bolognaise arancini with a side salad. Latte (My medicine!) with an escargot and more medicine!
I’m busy at a meeting today and have my lovely Girl-Friday doing some admin for me while I’m at it. Hump day is not close enough for me to the weekend. Seriously, are we there yet? Friday is going to be painful.
A beautiful day today in Melbourne for my foodie good mental health day post!
I was even able to get Hell on Wheels out to scooter to my last appointment. I take my flag inside to avoid it being stolen and my jacket in the bag on the back. Yes, no jacket today! Still wearing wool but only my Marino Cowl neck vest.
Got a window seat at my fav place. Just now hoping someone brings their dog for a walk, coffee, doggy biscuits. They are always so well-behaved when they are begging for their treats.
I’ll see if I can dig out an old photo as there seem to be no four-legged friends today.
Standard fare today. Bolognese Arancini with side salad, with my medicine of course. (Cafe latte)
Don’t imagine I’ll have any surprises today. Fingers crossed. Apart from the serious message I had earlier when I clipped a teenager on my scooter. Oops!
The message was the Universal Go-Slow! You know, when no matter what you do or where you are meant to be obstacles arrive that slow you down. Today, I must have met every elderly wog in my ‘hood with their shopping trolley or walking frame. Just ambling along!
It might surprise you all to know, I have no time or patience……….
I’ve been known to text photos of the well-behaved pooches here to friends who have dogs. I ask if their dog can do this……
Sometimes they respond with “Yes, my dog can beg for food!”
I beg the question; Beg or Pester?
