Human Resources 1

Human Resources

Is it wrong that I want to text the carer I was supposed to have today and ask her if she had a shower? Because, I haven’t!

Texting

Sadly, it’s wrong for one reason only, because I shouldn’t even have her number.

So, let’s imagine in a perfect world, I don’t have to manage my own HR (Human Resources) with who is coming and when. That I get a roster emailed once a week and well I stopped asking months ago.

Ideal World

I’ve stopped calling the “after hours” number to find out who I might be expecting for my 5.30pm FP (Food Preparation) shifts, because no one ever returns those calls.

Managing Carers

I guess, some carers I’ve managed to get their numbers out of friendship, which is nice. And this new batch I’ve gotten their numbers because their company has not been very organised.

Unorganised

Thankfully, I can do this, however I’m not getting paid.

Today’s Lunch – 8th November 2017

Today’s Lunch

I confess to say food doesn’t motivate me today. But, you know its fuel for the body and all that.

I’ve got a crappy cold! (Again!) this one is likely stress-related. As I’m moving house next Tuesday……. Today’s offering is a mushroom and sundried tomato Arancini with a side salad and medicine.

Crappy cold

Apart from my cold, I have the added bonus of a rib out.  That’s going to-be fun when my chiro puts that back in and sore tummy muscles. (Side-note: there is no muscle memory in that region!) and an added disability today…….this is a great way for able-bodied people to feel an instant deficit if you are game?

I’m a big texter and I’m a thumb-texter. Today, I’ve a Band-Aid on my thumb! It’s a new form of torture………

Lastly, feeling very-frustrated my case-management agency is undoing all my organizing and not helping me.

Frustrated

I did however hear my new NDIS funding has been approved! What that actually means is a completely different story.

Cheers,
H

Challenge 7

Challenge

Here is a little trial, if you like to get you in the instant mindset of having difficulties and challenges similar to that of having a disability.

Occasionally, I get a sore or ‘something’ that requires a bandaid on my right thumb!

Bandaid-Bummer

That is my texting finger (Or thumb so to speak) I text a lot, it’s good way to message people who don’t have normal hours. I don’t have normal hours, but occasionally it means people can get back to me when they have time.

Challenge 6

I even know a few people who keep similar hours as mine. So, if you text, put a bandaid on your text finger or thumb and every time you go to text, see how long it takes you to change your behaviour and routine to use a different finger or method.

Your Welcome!
